TransparentBLE is designed as a local Bluetooth Low Energy utility. The app scans for nearby BLE devices, connects to devices when you choose, inspects services and characteristics, records diagnostic log files, and loads profile files that describe how BLE device data and commands should be handled.

Data We Collect

TransparentBLE does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data with the developer or third parties.

The app can create local diagnostic log files on your device when you start recording. These logs may include BLE device names, device identifiers, RSSI values, GATT service and characteristic UUIDs, raw BLE payloads, timestamps, app lifecycle events, profile decoding results, and command responses.

Bluetooth

TransparentBLE uses Bluetooth to scan for, connect to, inspect, and record logs from nearby BLE devices. Bluetooth data stays on your device unless you choose to export or share a log file.

Location

TransparentBLE may ask for location permission only for optional Background Recording support. On iOS, background BLE recording may require location permission so the app can remain active while recording. TransparentBLE does not use location to track you and does not store or transmit your physical location.

Local Storage

Diagnostic logs are stored locally in the app’s documents storage. Imported BLE profile files are also stored locally. You can delete logs from inside the app.

Online Profile Downloads

If you tap an online profile import link, TransparentBLE downloads the selected profile file from the URL you opened. The app imports that file locally after validation. TransparentBLE does not upload your BLE logs, device payloads, location, or imported profiles to the developer.

Sharing

If you use iOS sharing or export features, you choose where exported log files are sent. Data shared through those system actions is handled by the destination app or service you select.

Third-Party Services

TransparentBLE does not include analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or developer-operated cloud services. Online profile downloads may be served by GitHub Pages or another profile URL you choose to open; those services receive normal network request information such as IP address and user agent.

Data Retention And Deletion

Local logs and imported profiles remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. You can clear recorded logs from the app.
